SUMMARY:Creative Floral Portraits "Hands-On" Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Hazel is the owner of Meredith Images\, an expert in photography craftsmanship\, award-winning photographer\, teacher\, speaker\, workshop leader and highly respected competition judge. You can view her work on her website at https://meredithimages.com. \nHazel will guide participants through how to add drama and creativity to their floral images with the addition of textures and the use of plug-in software. Get a subtle effect with one texture\, or go wild with two or more! Learn how to choose textures; how to blend them with your images; and how to mask off certain areas. Learn how to add a subtle vignette to your photos as well as creative borders. Hazel will also demonstrate a few of her favorite plug-ins\, i.e. the Nik Collection\, Smart Photo Editor and JixiPix desktop apps. \nThe week prior to the workshop\, Ms. Meredith will send a list of the software she will use during the workshop\, and the participants will be able to download a trial version if they don’t already own the products. If they don’t wish to download the software\, they can watch that portion of the demo and decide if they wish to obtain the software later. The day of the workshop Hazel will supply a USB flash drive to each participant with the images and textures that will be used in the projects\, along with detailed notes so they can replicate the projects at home and get familiar with the techniques discussed. \nThe workshop will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday May 18\, 2024\, at St. John’s United Methodist Church at 3921 Murray Hills Dr\, Chattanooga\, Tennessee. Participants need to bring note-taking materials\, laptop (suggested to follow along\, but not required) and a bottle of water. \nThe cost of the workshop is $79 per person. DESCRIPTION:Professional Photographer\, Artist and PSC President Lin Blackwell-Prabish will instruct a class on beginning photography. Advanced members of the club will also be on hand to assist attendees with questions about their specific camera models. \n  \nThis class is for those who need help learning how to use their camera\, need one-on-one assistance with their cameras and have questions about how to capture the images they want. SUMMARY:Light Painting Workshop
DESCRIPTION:with Kathryn Northcott\, M.Photog.\, Cr.Photog.\, C.P.P. \n\n\n\nFriday evening\, you can join her as she Light Paints a 2016 Cam Am Spyder RT.\, dark red\, owned by Randy Ware. We will gather at Lin Prabishs’ home at 1767 Colonial Shores Drive in Hixson. We will start setting up your cameras and hers at 7pm. This is a rain or shine class as we have a large garage just incase. Kathryn will explain how and why she is doing things as she does them. It will start prior to sunset and continue with pre-darkness set-up photos. As darkness ascends\, she will demonstrate how to paint light onto the subject throughout the evening. Probably lasting roughly an hour after darkness ascends. If you intend to photograph along with Kathryn you will need: a camera\, knowledge of long exposure\, use of bulb setting\, a tripod and a small flashlight to get around in the dark. The following morning she will instruct how she assembles the finished light painting from images captured the night before. The classroom portion will take place at St. John united Methodist Church\, 3921 Murray Hills Drive\, just off Hwy153\, 10 am until 1pm.
