DESCRIPTION:CHATTANOOGA\, Tenn. Thursday\, January 18\, 2024\, the Photographic Society of Chattanooga will present Donna Bourdon. Ms. Bourdon is a former healthcare executive who left corporate life to pursue her lifelong ambition to share the beauty of wildlife through her lens. In 2021\, Donna joined the team at Denise Ippolito: A Creative Adventure as a workshop leader. Her approach with all projects is to capture the spirit and drama of the wild through the photographic medium\, expressing not only the beauty\, but also the hardships and challenges that are being faced by wildlife each day in their ever-changing world. For her work\, Donna has received critical acclaim for many of her works and her images have been featured in several publications and social media posts. Her most recent publication is an image of a bald eagle featured on the cover of the 2023 Winter edition of “Sierra” magazine. SUMMARY:Light Painting Workshop
DESCRIPTION:with Kathryn Northcott\, M.Photog.\, Cr.Photog.\, C.P.P. \n\n\n\nFriday evening\, you can join her as she Light Paints a 2016 Cam Am Spyder RT.\, dark red\, owned by Randy Ware. We will gather at Lin Prabishs’ home at 1767 Colonial Shores Drive in Hixson. We will start setting up your cameras and hers at 7pm. This is a rain or shine class as we have a large garage just incase. Kathryn will explain how and why she is doing things as she does them. It will start prior to sunset and continue with pre-darkness set-up photos. As darkness ascends\, she will demonstrate how to paint light onto the subject throughout the evening. Probably lasting roughly an hour after darkness ascends. If you intend to photograph along with Kathryn you will need: a camera\, knowledge of long exposure\, use of bulb setting\, a tripod and a small flashlight to get around in the dark. The following morning she will instruct how she assembles the finished light painting from images captured the night before. The classroom portion will take place at St. John united Methodist Church\, 3921 Murray Hills Drive\, just off Hwy153\, 10 am until 1pm. DESCRIPTION:On October 1\, 2022\, the Photographic Society of Chattanooga will sponsor\na seminar with local artist Lin Blackwell-Prabish. \nProfessional Photographer and Artist Lin Blackwell-Prabish will instruct\na class on applying Art Mediums to your photographs! The 3-hour class\nwill include a history of different art mediums and actual hands-on\npractice. All supplies needed will be there for you to sample. You only\nneed to bring paper and a pencil to take notes. \nShe will touch on Colored Pencils\, watercolors\, Sprays\, and different\ntypes of paper. The “Goals” of this class are learning about\nEnhancement and what is an Original! The most important “Goal” in this\nclass is\, what is it you like?! You will have 3 hours of highlights from\nher regular class\, Advanced Hand-coloring with Various Art Mediums. \nLin has had many people ask her over the years\, is that a painting or a\nphotograph? Lin said\, at first\, she was offended by the question until\nshe figured out that it was a very high compliment.
