December 2018 – Panoramas, Bokeh, Photoshop Tips, Cityscape, Long Exposure
Well, this newsletter will wrap up 2018. It seems like the year went by really fast. The December article is always the toughest one for me to write, there seems to be a lack of new material to report on. All my favorite sites are devoting all their space to the great deals they have to sell you stuff for Black Friday. I did manage to find a few interesting one’s though.
I managed to take two major photography trips this year, a week in Chicago and a week in Cuba. In both locations there were multiple opportunities to take panoramas. So, having them in the forefront of my mind, I came across this article on Picture Correct by Joaquin Duenas titled “How To Capture and Stitch Panoramas”.

On the Phlearn site, “The Staff”, (I suppose that means a collaboration of the individuals that work there rather than any one author), posted this article with the grandiose title of “Bokeh Photography: The Ultimate Tutorial”. While it technically may not be the “Ultimate” we can all learn something by reading it.

If you have the subscription to Photoshop, we got a new update last month to Photoshop CC 2019. Colin Smith at the Photoshop Café did an article titled “5 Hidden Features In Photoshop CC 2019 You May Have Overlooked”.

Earlier I talked about taking Panoramas and most of my panos were Cityscapes. Here’s a related article on Picture Correct by Rueben Hird titled “10 Tips For Taking Great CityScape Photos”.

Well wrap it up this month with a new tutorial by everybody’s favorite French Photographer, Serge Ramelli. Here Serge talks about long exposures with his tutorial titled “Long Exposure Photography and Filters Tutorial”.
