Ok, back to instruction. I use layers a lot, and each of my layers ends up with a mask. One thing I’ve never explored is the properties tab of the mask. There is actually a slider that adjusts the mask density. Here’s Greg Benz discussing “Three ways to use layer mask density.”

In so many of our images, we want to have the background blurred behind the subject. If I didn’t get it right in camera, I blurred it in photoshop with a blur filter a brush.
